It is very shocking and sad that the violence and looting pillages throughout the UK are still continuing on.  Fueled by the death of a gang member by police, reaction and retaliation erupted with youth terrorizing countless businesses and homes. Fires have destroyed buildings and businesses leaving many people homeless.  Newspaper & TV reports cover the disturbing stories as they continue daily.  Back in June, Vancouver experienced its own chaos as disappointed sports fans, angered at their team’s loss, left the city reeling from looting, numerous fires, and stabbings.  We have witnessed this happening in our own country and now the UK is experiencing it in even greater proportions.  Is this a growing trend?

This ‘Mob Mentality’ is frightening and dangerous – a group of people completely throwing off all restraints and anything goes – Anarchy.   An article on the UK looting, in the Australian Christianity Today, concluded that many of these youth come from homes of poverty and hopelessness – written off by society repeatedly.  What has caused this breakdown of society will be blamed on many factors.  What it boils down to is the condition of the human heart – if left unchecked by the moral laws of God – the depraved nature of man becomes nothing more than a narcissistic animal. The Apostle Paul warned Timothy of the moral decay of integrity in the “last days” that would result in peril. (2 Tim. 3)

In Jesus time it was a mob of people that yelled “Crucify him” and a mob of people that stoned Stephen to death.

Church this is the hour to pray – if we don’t continue to pray & intercede for the generations we become the prey.   We need to lift up our voices in supplication and cry out for the harvest – for the generations. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son that whosoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life” John 3:16.  Pray that God will turn hearts from evil and pray that this generation will make God their refuge from this generation to the next. (Psalm 34:14, 90:1) Intercede for the church to stand together in this hour in unity and power of God’s Holy Spirit. Cry out that God will use the chaos in the UK to turn whole generations to Him.  If the Welsh revival could boast of 100,000 souls in 6 months, it can happen again in greater proportions!

God is at work, He is sovereign, He has a plan, and that plan is to draw all men unto Him through the plan of salvation in Jesus Christ.  God is calling the hearts of man to humble themselves, and cry out to Him, and turn from their wicked ways.

As we have been crying out for revival in our nation we have experienced incredible breakthroughs in Canada.  The prayer movement continues to build momentum across our nation as prayer groups join in unity for the revival of this nation. God is calling the generations and capturing the hearts of the youth – our prayers are shaking up the heavens and stirring a battle in the heavenly realm.

Church, it is good to be a Christian in this hour - To know who to turn to in times of trouble, to know that we are not to fear, and to know that He holds the future.  There is a peace that we can draw on that stills our soul.  God promises in His word to deliver us from the fowler’s snare and from every pestilence. (Psalm 91:3)  Yes, for those of us who have put our trust in Him, there is freedom in that peace, and rest for our soul, knowing that God is in control.  But, many do not know His peace and fear grips their souls and some have hearts hardened like stone.  Who will stand in the gap for them?
