As God’s children we have certain rights & privileges.  We have the authority to come to the Father on behalf of ourselves and our children. Praying scripture is praying with authority and speaking God’s word back to Him.  In Hebrews 12:4  it speaks of the powerful word of God likening it onto a sword that can divide through bone and spirit, and judges thoughts and our intentions.  It describes the word as  living and active – words that are living, words that are full of life.  in proverbs 18:21 it speaks of life & death being in the power of the tongue.  Our tongue can speak words of life or words of death.  What does that mean? it means what we speak is very powerful.   When God spoke over the earth in Genesis “Let there be light”, it was the voice of God speaking it into existence.  We have been created in God’s image therefore what we speak is powerful.   Another scripture in Psalm 103:20 says that the angels of the Lord hearkens to the voice of of His Word.  When we speak God’s word it releases angels to do the work of the Lord in our lives. Now on another note, if we are not speaking words of life but instead speaking negatively over ourselves, our family, & our situations who is standing by? Those words are death and of curses that God’s angels cannot hearken to. Now if you have found yourself speaking like that and the Holy Spirit has convicted you, don’t despair – ask God for forgiveness, and revoke every negative word from your mouth.  Begin today to speak blessings and not curses.

Wow, doesn’t it just amaze you how carefully we should be speaking?

Do you want to see God move powerfully in your life?  And in your family?  Guard and choose carefully what and how you speak.  Here is an example, if we speak things like “things keep getting worse” ,”we are always broke” “my son’s grades are terrible, he is going to end up dropping out of school like his uncle”  Complaining and speaking negatively is not going to do any good. How can God move with that?  There won’t be any angels released to work on your behalf unless we speak God’s Word.  Here is an example of praying the Word over your child:

Give my son/daughter a good heart toward God, so that he/she will want to obey you in the smallest detail. That was based on 1 Chronicles 29:19.  How to pray for wisdom?  Take James 3:17-18 and pray for God’s wisdom that is pure and willing to yield and full of mercy and good fruits.

Pray according to Philippians 1:10 which reads: “…so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ.” Now take your child’s name and pray that he will see clearly the difference between right and wrong, and keep himself inwardly clean and remain blameless before the Lord.

The word of God is prophesy – so speaking it out and thank God for it – that it will come into completion!  Here is an example:  “Thank you Lord that my children will put their trust in You and declare that You are their God and give you their lives daily.” This is according to Psalm 31:14-15.

Praying for healing?  Declare that your healing will spring forth like in Isaiah 58:8 and that God is my rear guard; what harm can come to me or my family? Fearful of the future?  Speak out Psalm 37:27 and declare that the righteous will never be forsaken or their children begging for bread. There are so many wonderful scriptures of God’s promises that we can speak and stand on.  I have just mentioned a few.

Speaking the scriptures by faith is declaring it into existence.  Faith pleases God and when we speak His word and profess it by faith – things begin to happen.  God can work!

Go ahead, pray with power today!
