First Friday Prayer Guide

CIP Prayer Newsletters & Guides photo REVISEDJanuary 2012

Beginning Monday, January 9, 2012 at 9:11 pm, “Canada 911″ will launch with individuals, churches and prayer groups partnering in a full or partial fast of soup and liquids ending on January 31, 2012 at 9:11 am.

The fast is being spearheaded according to Amos 9:11; “On that day I will raise up the tabernacle of David, which has fallen down, and repair its damages; I will raise up its ruins, and rebuild it as in the days of old.”  The purpose is to pray for God to restore this nation and rebuild its walls; to raise up the tabernacle of David by praying for the church to be cleansed and made strong again by the power of His Holy Spirit.  We are seeking God to re-dig the old wells of revival that Canada has experienced in generations past.

As we begin this 21-Day Fast, let us join together by faith in taking time daily to pray through the following Prayer Guide.  Using the directives provided as help, meditate on the scriptures listed and ask the Holy Spirit to give you specific revelation of what He is saying and how He desires you to pray.  Allow Him to direct you and lead you into all truth as you pray each directive.

Preparation For The Fast

Sunday, January 1st: Pray for the nation of Canada; cry out for God to prepare the hearts of His people to pray and fast, to seek Him this year, to fast, to press in and believe for this nation to see revival! “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”  (2 Chronicles 7:14)

Monday, January 2nd – Mark 16:17-18, Acts 2:43:  Cry out in intercession for Canada’s far north – for the Northwest Territories, Nunavut and the Yukon, that God will tear down the spirit of darkness of alcoholism and suicide over His people.  Pray for God’s people to come together in unity and in the power of the Holy Spirit.

Tuesday, January 3rd – Matthew 13:58, Acts 8:21:  Lift up the province of Quebec and pray that the spirit of unbelief will be broken off the people. Pray for a spiritual awakening in the souls of the Quebecois, that they will realize their spiritual condition before God and seek Him with their whole hearts.

Wednesday, January 4th – Ephesians 6:10-18:  Pray for the church in the western provinces of British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba, that they will put on God’s armour according to His word. Pray that they will gather with one another in unity and be strengthened in faith so that they will grow strong in the Lord and mighty in the battle of prayer. “That they may know from the rising of the sun and from the west, that there is none beside me….”  (Isaiah 45:6)

Thursday, January 5th – Isaiah 44:6; 45:22:  Cry out for God to reveal the truth to the people of Ontario that there is only one true God and only one true God that can bring salvation.

Friday, January 6th – Psalm 24:3-4: – Pray for the eastern provinces of Newfoundland and Labrador, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island, that they will prepare their hearts for fellowship with the Lord.

Saturday, January 7th – Psalm 48:9-10; 103:1-8, 11-13:  Pray for our hearts, that we will meditate on the Lord and remember His great love for us, His great wisdom, faithfulness, and His compassion for His people and His desire that none should perish. Pray for a willingness to fast and pray, that our ears will be open to hear the Lord calling.

Sunday, January 8th – Joel 2:12-18:  “Yet even now, says the Lord, return to me with all your heart, with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning; and rend your hearts and not your garments. Return to the Lord, your God for He is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love, and repent of evil…”  ”Blow the trumpet in Zion; Sanctify the fast…”  Cry out that God will prepare the hearts of His people to fast and give them the strength to continue to pray and commit to Him fully.  Pray for a sorrowful repentance to come on His people as we cry out for our own spiritual walk and for this nation to turn from their wicked ways and acknowledge God as Lord and Saviour. Pray that Almighty God will raise up “The Tabernacle of David…and rebuild it as in the days of old.” (Amos 9:11)
